Job Purpose

Examines, evaluates and processes applications for credit or loans under supervision. Responsible for the follow - up and maintenance of assigned credit accounts from Relationship Managers.

Generic Accountabilities

Specific Accountabilities

1.    Applications Administration:  Assisting in the preparation of credit limit applications by; 
•    Obtaining financial statements from customers and necessary clarifications for transfer to the Credit Analysis Unit for above cut off limits.
•    Following the instructions in preparing Credit Application Request (CAR) including structure of credit facility.
2.    Financial Spreads: Assist in preparing spread sheets based on the financials of the existing / prospective customers.
3.    Financial Analysis:   Assist in interpreting and analysing the financials supported by the spread sheet and other information gathered to produce effective reports explaining the historical operating performance of a company as well as its financial position, liquidity, & cash flow management etc.  to support informed decision making
4.    Credit review: Assist in preparing the submissions to credit committees and handle requests for clarification and additional information. Advise client of progress of application.
5.    Customer Service: Acting as a first level point of contact for corporate customers to resolve any problems under supervisor and in the absence of Relationship Managers; as a necessary step, accompanying the Relationship Manager to at least one meeting with the client whose loan has been approved.
6.    Account Management: Assisting in the account management process as instructed by the Unit Head: This includes but is not limited to: 
•    Monitoring customer compliance with credit limits, and initiating Early Alert Signals.

Education

Diploma Degree or Equivalent Certification/Experience

Experience

  • At least 0 to 2 years’ banking sector experience
  • Certified Credit Management (CCM)

Skills

  • Understanding of corporate banking products and services
  • Knowledge of banking and credit risk principles and processes
