Job Purpose

Maintaining Network and Voice systems ensuring availability and stability across the platform

Generic Accountabilities

1. People Management Supervise employees and the team in line with people policies & practices. Communicate operational procedures.

Specific Accountabilities

1.    Planning  Assist with design and architecture, maintain, secure and optimize the network, data communications, and telecommunications systems 
2.    Availability Deliver continuous service availability through availability management and problem resolution
3.    Documentation Ensure documentation of processes, policies and procedures is current and available. 
4.    Installations Installation & configuration of complex network infrastructure management systems to ensure optimal operations 
5.    Maintenance Advanced maintenance & support user hardware / software issues relating to connectivity
6.    Problem resolution Advanced network problem analysis and resolution  and report them to the management
7.    User support Respond to advanced user issues and provide solutions
8.    Back-up Assist in performing backups of related applications and data 
9.    Suppliers follow up with suppliers and ensure they deliver good service and value for money
10.    Security Ensure Network security through identifying and resolving security issues
11.    Policies Enforce policies relating to security, backup, housekeeping, restoration and network changes
 

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Certification/Experience in Information Sciences and Technology

Experience

•    At least 6 year’s professional experience gain across a large complex enterprise environment
•    Banking sector experience
•    Large scale enterprise network experience
•    Working experience with L2 & L3 switches, routers, and other networking appliances

Skills

•    Network systems and their functionality

•    Problem solving complex technical issues, techniques and processes
