Job Purpose

Drive corporate banking activities across a unit and achieve financial targets and other business objectives.

Generic Accountabilities

1. Divisional Strategy Contribute to divisional strategy through aligning activities with divisional strategy and business plans.
2. Policy & Processes implement ABK and divisional policies, processes and structures.
3. Corporate Governance Ensure all divisional activities comply with corporate governance & regulatory or legal frameworks.
4. Risk Management Identify, manage, mitigate and report on risk and potential risk in divisional activities.
5. People Management Manage people in line with people policies and best practices.

Specific Accountabilities

1.    Business development Develop relationships with corporates through marketing and networking 
2.    Client management Manage clients to ensure successful retention and high levels of client satisfaction   
3.    Sales Identify sales opportunities, market and cross sell products, services and solutions and close sales/delivery
4.    Credit review Manage credit applications and ensure recommendations are in line with risk appetite and risk policy 
5.    Portfolio management Ensure portfolios are regularly reviewed, problem accounts identified and corrective action taken 
6.    Remedial accounts  Manage the transition of remedial accounts with proposals for corrective action. 
 

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Certification/Experience in Finance or Accounting

Experience

•    Minimum 11 years of banking sector experience
•    Experience and exposure to corporate banking activities
•    Successful record of managing small to medium corporate clients. 
 

Skills

•    Understanding of corporate banking products and services
•    Knowledge of corporate banking 
•    Knowledge of corporate lending theory and practice
